Taming Anxiety
One of the most common things people seek therapy for is anxiety. We have a very human tendency to look away from what scares us, but turns out those things are often what we need to focus on and sit with. As the great Brene Brown says, we must “lean into the discomfort.” My therapy office, or virtual if that’s your vibe, is specifically created to ensure we are able to build the foundation of a safe relationship so that we can “lean in” together. Anxiety comes up in all types of ways: tension, worry, fear, and/or obsessive thinking. You are not alone in this. Therapy helps define when anxiety is useful (and it can be) and when it’s causing significant distress and then how to help regulate so you can live the life you so badly want to live.

Sex + Relationship Issues
Struggling with a romantic partner? Or looking to improve potential future relationships? Just feeling really stuck? Many of us never learned the vocabulary to define or discuss our feelings or how to state what we need. Therapy helps you to strengthen your communication skills, improve intimacy and build tools that will allow for a revival of your relationship and your life. I utilize a lot of the Gottmans’ teaching in therapy which is an evidence based approach for happiness in relationships. We will also practice boundaries, vulnerability and finding connection with others as well as yourself.

Experiences with Trauma
Trauma comes from the Greek word for “wound.” These wounds, no matter the size, take time, energy and compassion to help heal. I utilize EMDR to help dive into your memories and process without minimizing or comparing. Many of those who see me will often compare their “stuff” to others and wait to seek out therapy because what they have gone through must not be so bad. I’m here to let you know that your pain and discomfort is real and valid. The space I create is intentionally made to be a safe and nonjudgmental haven so that all clients may find relief, comfort and perhaps an entirely new outlook on life and the world around you.

Yoga + Breathwork
By integrating clinical expertise and over a decade of yoga practice, I combine two passions to provide an active and holistic approach to mental health. Yoga is often seen only as the asana, or the physical practice. However, yoga is also about the breath, the mind and learning about how our body stores energy. During session we may practice meditation, gentle movement and guided breathwork. This type of therapy is best suited for those wanting to reduce muscle tension, increase self awareness, and discover a practice that you can easily implement into your daily life.
